About the Role & Opportunity
Considering a career change into healthcare?
Key Dermatology is looking for an exceptional Front Desk Patient Care Coordinator to join our growing team.
This is more than a traditional receptionist position. Our Patient Care Coordinators play an important role in both the patient experience and the daily flow of our practice. You will be trusted with patient communication, scheduling, insurance information, financial conversations, and helping keep the clinic running efficiently.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, friendly, detail-oriented, hardworking, and genuinely enjoys helping people.
Previous dermatology or medical office experience is NOT required. We are happy to train the right person.
While previous medical receptionist or Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience is a plus, it is not our primary consideration. Systems and processes can be taught. What matters most to us is finding someone who brings reliability, professionalism, humility, a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn.
If you have a strong background in hospitality, hotels, dental or optometry offices, banking, pharmacy, customer service, school administration, professional offices, or another high-touch service environment, we strongly encourage you to apply.
If you are great with people but have never worked in dermatology, please do not let that stop you from applying.
A Day in the Life of a Patient Care Coordinator
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will:
- Create an exceptional first impression: Welcome patients warmly and professionally and help create a positive experience from check-in through checkout.
- Be the voice of the practice: Answer and manage a high volume of phone calls with professionalism, warmth, accuracy, and good judgment.
- Keep the schedule moving: Schedule and confirm appointments while helping maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the day.
- Guide patients through the administrative side of their care: Verify patient information and insurance benefits, process referrals, and maintain accurate paperwork and medical records.
- Handle financial conversations professionally: Collect copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket payments accurately and confidently.
- Own the details: Accurately document patient information, messages, appointments, and communications.
- Communicate across the practice: Work closely with providers, clinical staff, billing, and other team members to ensure patients receive a seamless experience.
- Support your team: Step in where needed and help maintain an organized, efficient, and professional front desk.
