Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Truck Driver (Class C)to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and timely delivery of steel products to various construction sites. This position requires operating a variety of trucks, including flatbeds and trailers, while complying with all transportation regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy trucks to transport a variety of steel materials.
- Safely load, unload, and secure cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan and follow efficient routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety.
- Maintain accurate driving logs, mileage reports, and cargo records in compliance with legal requirements.
- Communicate effectively with office to coordinate delivery schedules and report any issues.
- Take care of all company vehicles upkeep by keeping them clean and flagging any mechanical problems.
- When not performing driving duties, assist in the fabrication shop with general labor tasks, including material preparation, shop cleanup, loading and unloading materials, assisting welders and fabricators, and supporting painting and finishing operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (C) with a clean driving record.
- Demonstrated experience operating flatbed and pulling trailers.
- Strong understanding of cargo handling procedures and safety standards.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet strict delivery timelines.
- Skilled in operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address on-the-road challenges quickly and effectively.
