The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Optician to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for providing expert optical dispensing, assisting patients with frame and lens selections, and ensuring optimal visual outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Dispensing: Dispense eyeglasses, contact lenses, and specialty eyewear while providing thorough patient education.
- Clinical Support: Assist patients with frame selection, lens recommendations, and necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Technical Proficiency: Perform lensometry, take precise frame measurements, and confidently handle complex prescriptions and specialty lens designs.
- Operational Support: Manage lab order submissions, track orders, maintain quality control, and ensure accurate record-keeping in practice management software.
- Dispensary Maintenance: Maintain an organized, well-stocked, and professional dispensary environment.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of optical dispensing experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with optical lab ordering systems and practice management software.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality patient care.
- Preferred: ABO (American Board of Opticianry) certification or equivalent professional experience, NCLE certification (contact lens fitting experience), and experience in independent optometry practices.
Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
