Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper specializing in HOA (Homeowners Association) management using QuickBooks. This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the financial health of our community associations. Duties
- Manage and maintain HOA financial records using QuickBooks Desktop and Online with knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice entry, payment processing, and collections
- Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping to support accurate financial statements
- Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards
- Generate detailed financial reports, including yearly budgets, financial statements, and audit documentation for external audits
Skills
- Extensive experience with QuickBooks especially QuickBooks Online and Desktop
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proven bookkeeping experience with expertise in account reconciliation, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management
- Ability to interpret financial concepts such as debits & credits, account analysis, double entry bookkeeping, and financial report writing
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes and account reconciliation techniques
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to work independently within deadlines while maintaining high-quality work standards
