About the Role
We are a fine dining restaurant seeking a Floor Manager who leads from the front. This is a dual-focus role: floor leadership and beverage program ownership carry equal weight. The right person thrives in a high-standards environment, commands the dining room with calm authority, and brings genuine passion for hospitality and wine and cocktail culture. This is not an office role. You will be on the floor, leading service every shift.
Core Responsibilities
Floor Leadership (Primary)
- Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) each shift, own the dining room from open to close
- Control the flow of service: reservations, table turns, pacing, and guest experience
- Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate clear expectations to the team
- Step into expo, host, or any support role as needed to keep service seamless and consistent
- Manage opening and closing responsibilities and ensure the floor is impeccable before every service
Beverage Program
- Help maintain and execute the restaurant's wine and cocktail program
- Train the FOH team on beverage knowledge, upsell techniques, and pairing awareness
- Maintain vendor relationships and manage product ordering and availability
- Monitor beverage cost and contribute to profitability and cost control goals
- Support seasonal menu updates and curated beverage pairings for guests
Team & Shift Operations
- Train and coach FOH team members to improve performance, consistency, and hospitality
- Manage reservations, phone volume, and takeout flow as part of shift responsibilities
- Enforce standards around cleanliness, side work, and shift readiness
- Identify execution gaps and take corrective action immediately
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years in a FOH leadership role: Floor Manager, Lead Server, Supervisor, or Bartender with leadership responsibilities
- Experience in a fine dining or high-volume upscale restaurant setting strongly preferred
- Strong, calm presence on the floor: visible, decisive, and respected by both team and guests
- Genuine beverage knowledge: wine, cocktails, or both; comfortable guiding guests and leading staff training
- Flexible availability: nights, weekends, and peak service periods are a required part of this role
Schedule Expectations
- Primarily evening and weekend shifts
- Mix of service shifts, opening/closing responsibilities, and administrative time
- Weekly Salary Stipend for Wine Program
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
