Job Summary:
The Server Assistant supports the service team in delivering a seamless and elevated guest experience. This role is responsible for maintaining table standards, assisting servers with the flow of service, and ensuring guests feel attended to at every moment of their visit. The ideal candidate is attentive, professional, and eager to grow within a fine dining environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist servers in providing prompt, courteous, and attentive service to all guests
- Greet seated guests with water service and bread or amuse-bouche as directed
- Maintain tables throughout the meal by clearing plates, refreshing water, and replacing silverware between courses
- Reset tables quickly and to standard following guest departure
- Assist with food delivery to tables in coordination with the food runner and expeditor
- Monitor the dining room for guest needs and respond proactively without waiting to be asked
- Communicate table status, special requests, and guest feedback to the assigned server promptly
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of service stations, side stands, and back areas throughout the shift
- Complete all opening, mid-shift, and closing side work as assigned
- Attend pre-shift meetings and maintain awareness of daily specials, menu changes, and 86'd items
- Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Professional appearance and polished demeanor in a guest-facing environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate guest needs
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team during high-volume service
- Basic knowledge of fine dining table etiquette and service standards
Education and Experience:
- Prior experience in a busser, server assistant, or FOH support role required; fine dining experience a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per shift and lift or carry up to 40 lbs.
