We are currently seeking multiple Peer Recovery Specialists to join our multidisciplinary team.
Job Summary
As a Peer Recovery Specialist or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) at StarCity Behavioral Health, you will play a vital role in providing peer-based support and structure to individuals navigating substance use and recovery from Substance Use Disorder. You’ll help maintain a safe, recovery-oriented environment. You will use your lived experience and training to guide and empower residents.
Responsibilities
- Offer peer support and mentorship to clients, using lived experience to build trust and model recovery.
- Performing Intake Processes both manually and in automated systems, including searches and drug screens
- Notifying shift manager of necessary referrals based on information provided during intake (medical, clinical, etc).
- Providing both scheduled and ad-hoc transportation to and from housing.
- Providing oversight of clients before, during and after clinical services, including direct oversight during breaks and monitoring of non-clinical areas such as the parking lots, hallways, and bathrooms.
- Assisting with lunch service.
- Maintain clear professional boundaries and uphold StarCity’s standards of care and ethics.

Qualifications
- MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN A DBHDS LICENSED PROGRAM.
- MUST POSSESS PRS, CPRS, OR BE WILLING TO TAKE PRS TRAINING.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required).
- Basic computer skills and comfort using electronic documentation systems (required).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and the ability to remain nonjudgmental.
- Proven ability to maintain professional boundaries while sharing lived experience.
- Organized and reliable with strong documentation habits.
- Comfortable working in an outpatient setting with a diverse client population.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Prior experience in an ASAM Level 2.5, 2.1 or other substance abuse or treatment setting is a plus.
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time shifts available.
- Must be available for evening, weekend, and/or holiday shifts as needed.
