About the Role
We are currently seeking a reliable and skilled Cable & Field Technician to join our team servicing the Gulfport and Biloxi region. As a low-voltage IT networking and telecommunications provider, we specialize in delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network cabling and telecommunications systems on-site for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Routing: Run, pull, and terminate low-voltage cables (Cat5e, Cat6, Fiber Optic, coaxial) in commercial and residential environments.
- Hardware Setup: Install and configure telecommunications equipment, networking hardware, routers, switches, and associated racking systems.
- Testing & Troubleshooting: Test cable pathways and equipment to ensure signal quality and identify/resolve connectivity issues.
- Site Management: Read and interpret blueprints, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and ensure all installations meet industry standards and local codes.
- Documentation: Accurately document project progress, equipment used, and time spent on each job site.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Previous experience as a low-voltage technician, cable installer, or IT network field technician.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with standard hand tools, cable testers, and termination equipment.
- Mobility: A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel to various job sites across the Gulfport area.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces (e.g., attics, crawlspaces) as required.
- Communication: Professional demeanor with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interact clearly with clients on-site.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
