Bruce Galloway Law, LLC, a well-established boutique family law firm, is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our growing team. This role involves high responsibility, frequent client interaction, and collaboration with a small but experienced team. We are looking for someone who is proactive, dependable, and confident in handling deadlines, discovery, and trial preparation.
Responsibilities
- Draft and manage family law pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Calendar and monitor deadlines for discovery, hearings, and trials
- Communicate with clients regularly and compassionately—providing updates, gathering information, and helping them feel heard and supported
- Prepare for mediations, hearings, and trials, including exhibits, binders, and client preparation
- Maintain digital and physical case files in an organized, audit-ready format
- Adjust hours occasionally to meet deadlines, prepare for trial, or support the team during time-sensitive casework
- File legal documents with local and state courts and administrative agencies
- Coordinate with court clerks, opposing counsel, clients, and third parties
- Conduct interviews and investigations to gather relevant information for cases
- Accurately track and enter billable time on a contemporaneous basis
- Utilize templates and AI effectively for document generation
Our Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years of experience working as a paralegal or similar role (family law preferred)
- Strong knowledge of discovery procedures, court deadlines, and local filing rules
- Familiarity with legal case management software (MyCase, Clio, etc.)
- Reliable timekeeping and billing practices
- Comfortable and professional in receiving direct, solution-focused feedback
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Current and active Notary Public certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat
- Transcription or dictation experience
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and professional communication
