As a Retail Sales Associate for Madison’s on Main, you will help create a classic boutique experience that celebrates mothers and daughters through timeless style, heartfelt service, and meaningful moments.
Job Summary
The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience, supporting daily store operations, assisting with merchandising, and accurately using store technology systems including Shopify, POS tools, and ShipStation.
This role requires someone who is service-oriented, dependable, detail-focused, and comfortable using computers and retail systems. The Retail Sales Associate should be able to help customers confidently, support online and in-store order needs, maintain store presentation, and contribute to a welcoming boutique environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
It is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented. You must be able to fulfill the following requirements:
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
Create and maintain a welcoming store environment for all customers.

Thanking and appreciating every customer.
Assist customers with clothing, shoes, jewelry, gifts, fragrance, and other boutique products.
Support styling, outfit building, gift recommendations, and product education.
Operate the cash register and Shopify POS system accurately.
Use Shopify to look up products, customer information, orders, inventory, and online purchase details.
Use ShipStation to assist with shipping tasks, order processing, packing slips, labels, and fulfillment support.
Assist with online order fulfillment, in-store pickup orders, shipping preparation, and customer order questions.
Maintain accuracy when entering customer information, processing transactions, applying rewards, and completing order documentation.
Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
Support merchandising initiatives, table displays, restocking, product placement, and overall store appearance.
Assist with inventory control, product counts, receiving, tagging, and organizing merchandise.
Help keep the sales floor, checkout area, fitting rooms, stock areas, and customer spaces clean and organized.
Follow company policies and procedures related to customer service, cash handling, store safety, technology use, and inventory accuracy.
Communicate customer needs, product questions, low inventory, order issues, and store concerns to leadership.
Resolve basic customer questions with professionalism and involve leadership when needed.
Complete all documentation associated with sales, orders, shipping, returns, exchanges, inventory, and other assigned job duties.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Comfortable using computers, tablets, POS systems, and retail technology.
Ability to learn and use Shopify and ShipStation accurately.
Strong attention to detail with transactions, customer information, online orders, and inventory.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
Dependable, flexible, and willing to support both customers and store operations.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn product knowledge, styling, and sales skills.

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
