The Radiographic Tech performs diagnostic medical procedures producing diagnostic medical radiographs.
Performs radiographic examinations using C-arms, portable and stationary radiographic imaging equipment. Develops film including evaluating film for technical quality. Transports patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains room. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions. Maintains clean and orderly work areas. Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, Inservice meetings and workshops. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, etc. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Supports the hospital's Christian mission, philosophy, values, and goals. Participates in and supports established Performance Improvement Program. Attends Regulatory required and hospital mandatory Inservice programs. Observes hospital dress code and maintains appropriate conduct and appearance. Maintains confidentiality of all information regarding patients, families, physicians and hospital personnel.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or graduate of a radiologic technology program preferred. Must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age, limitations and planned procedures.
- Maintains current Registry and State License.
