The WIC Lead CPA is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the WIC clinic while also functioning as a Competent Professional Authority. This position supervises CPA and clerical support staff, ensures compliance with federal and state guidelines, and maintains service quality. The Lead CPA is accountable for staff support, clinic performance, and positive participant outcomes through leadership, training, and direct client services.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Lead CPA Responsibilities:
- Lead daily clinic operations and ensure compliance with WIC policies, procedures, and state/federal guidelines.
- Supervise clinic CPAs and clerical support staff; provide training, feedback, and support.
- Conduct monthly observations and one-one meetings with team.
- Monitor data entry and documentation in the Indiana WIC Management Information System (INWIC MIS).
- Oversee timekeeping, staff scheduling, inventory tracking, and office supply management.
- Support quality assurance through internal reviews and corrective action planning.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that upholds CoAction’s mission and values.
- Communicate agency priorities and updates with staff and elevate concerns to the WIC Regional Manager.

Represent CoAction WIC at community events and in agency-wide initiatives.
- Complete eligibility screenings, nutrition assessments, and breastfeeding evaluations for WIC participants.

Provide tailored nutrition education, food package prescriptions, and community referrals.
- Document anthropometrics, education, and risk factors in INWIC MIS.
- Issue and educate on eWIC cards, WIC-approved foods, and use of the WIC mobile app.

Facilitate breastfeeding classes and promote breastfeeding in clinic and community settings.
- Maintain a welcoming and safe clinic environment following infection prevention protocols.
- Attend required state trainings and maintain continuing education as needed.
- Registered Dietitian or registration-eligible, OR
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or Nutrition Sciences, OR
- Licensed Registered Nurse, OR
- Graduate of a bachelor’s or master’s program in a health-related field with at least 9 credit hours in nutrition (introductory, lifecycle/maternal/infant, and advanced)
- CPA credential or completion of CPA training within 12 months of hire
- At least 1 year of WIC or maternal/child health experience preferred
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
