Job Summary
The Bobtail Delivery Driver is to deliver gasoline and/or diesel in large quantities while operating a vehicle efficiently and safely while maintaining the company’s standards for excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate vehicle in a safe manner
- Load, transport and deliver fuel to and from specific locations while obeying all federal, state and local laws related to commercial hazmat transportation
- Provide excellent customer service in a professional and ethical manner
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure proper operation
- Maintain daily driving logs to record miles driven and number of stops
- Accurately complete daily delivery paperwork
- Must abide by all company performance policies including driver safety and delivery accuracy
Minimum Qualifications
- Class A or B commercial license with hazmat, tanker and airbrakes endorsement
- Clean driving record
- Flexibility to be a TEAM PLAYER and participate in efforts that are needed to benefit the company and accomplish unscheduled necessary projects and tasks
- License and vehicle to drive to and from work
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to best serve the customer
- Ability to work full shifts including flex weekend schedule
Required Skills/Abilities
- Solid judgement along with decision making skills
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers
Physical Requirements
- Maneuver hoses weighing up to 50 pounds overhead to deliver product
- Repetitive climbing in and out of vehicle as well as occasional climbing of stairs/ladders
- Repetitive squatting and bending for removal of drop and vapor lids weighing up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to travel frequently
- Prolonged periods of sitting
