Applications Engineer II – East Coast (Remote)

We are seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer II based on the East Coast to join our growing team. This customer-facing role is ideal for a scientist or engineer with hands-on experience in immune cell culture, particularly T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, who is passionate about helping customers succeed. As a technical expert on PBS bioreactor technology, you will collaborate closely with customers, sales, product development, and field service teams to provide scientific guidance, troubleshoot complex bioprocess challenges, and support the adoption of next-generation cell culture solutions.

Responsibilities
- Support the sales function as technical expert on PBS bioreactors by advising users on optimal bioprocess conditions and troubleshooting cell culture issues, with particular emphasis around immune cell culture processes (natural killer and T cells).
- Provide necessary on-site and remote training on PBS bioreactors to our users, both internal and external to PBS, and support the progress of clients’ cell culture runs through periodic follow-ups.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and document technical issues and questions on PBS bioreactors from our users in a timely manner.
- Set up and lead technical project meetings with strategic clients at regular interval as applicable.
- Support internal product development projects by communicating relevant feedback from users to project teams and supplying end user inputs and requirements as a bioreactor expert.
- Support generation of technical marketing collateral such as application notes, white papers, and other forms of publication from internal bioprocess research and/ or external collaboration pertaining to immune cell application.
- Work collaboratively with the Field Service team to help complete services on PBS bioreactors in the field as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience
- Hands-on experience with immune cell culture (T cells, NK cells)
- Experience working with bioreactor systems
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- · Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving cell culture issues (e.g. low cell yield, poor cell quality, contamination). Experience with root cause analysis methodology.
- Possessing a positive attitude and superb interpersonal skills. Experience and comfort with public speaking preferred.
- Possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in Good Documentation Practice (GDocP). Ability to write technical documents effectively.
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally, up to 2 weeks per month.
- Ability to work individually with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a multi-functional team.
- Willingness to travel (up to ~25%)

Pay: $109,000.00 - $131,000.00 per year
