Operations Coordinator / Driver Manager
Job Summary
The Operations Coordinator / Driver Manager assists with daily transportation operations and manages company drivers to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time service delivery. This role serves as a key point of contact between drivers, dispatch, and operations leadership, supporting compliance, productivity, and high service standards across the organization.
Key Responsibilities of Driver Management
- Recruit, assist with onboarding, train, and supervise company drivers
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding schedules, charter orders, policies, and on-road issues
- Monitor driver performance, attendance, punctuality, and compliance with company standards
- Address driver concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary matters professionally and promptly
- Assist with basic equipment needs, including refueling buses and transporting vehicles to and from maintenance facilities as needed
- Fill in to cover driver shortages when required
Operations & Dispatch Coordination
- Track and manage all scheduled daily charter assignments
- Ensure adequate driver coverage to meet operational demands
- Communicate real-time updates related to delays, incidents, or schedule changes
- Coordinate closely with dispatch and operations teams to maintain smooth daily operations
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure drivers comply with DOT, company, and safety regulations
- Monitor hours of service (HOS), logs, and required documentation
- Conduct or assist with safety meetings and performance reviews
- Schedule required equipment training or retraining for drivers
- Investigate incidents, accidents, or violations and assist with reporting and follow-up
Administrative & Reporting Duties
- Maintain accurate driver records, schedules, and operational data
- Prepare reports related to driver performance, utilization, and operational efficiency
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within transportation operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required (associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, fleet management, or operations
- Strong knowledge of driver management, scheduling, and dispatch processes
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards preferred
- Proficiency with dispatch software (such as Motive), GPS systems, and Microsoft Office
- Valid CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements requiredSkills & Competencies

Work Environment
- Combination of office-based work and regular interaction with drivers and operations staff in the field
- Availability outside normal business hours may be required, including evenings, weekends, late nights, and early mornings
- Occasional out-of-state travel to support company operations

Pay: $32,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
