Position Overview
APsystems North America is seeking a full-time, temporarily remote PV Technical Support Specialist based in the United States. This position will be moving to in-person work eventually.
This position provides phone and email support to solar installers, distributors, and homeowners across the United States and Canada. The ideal candidate has professional experience working with PV systems and components, along with strong customer service experience in a call-center or technical support environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support by phone and email for PV products and systems
- Troubleshoot microinverters, monitoring equipment, communication devices, and related solar components
- Review system information, electrical readings, and customer-provided details
- Guide customers through approved troubleshooting procedures
- Explain technical information clearly to technical and non-technical customers
- Create and maintain accurate support cases within CRM systems
- Document troubleshooting steps, customer communications, and resolutions
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate internal teams
- Follow established support, safety, warranty, and replacement procedures
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations teams
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of professional experience working with PV or solar energy systems and components
- At least two years of customer service experience in a call-center, contact-center, or high-volume phone-support environment
- Working knowledge of residential or commercial PV systems, including microinverters, inverters, monitoring equipment, AC and DC components, wiring, and system communications
- Ability to understand basic electrical measurements, diagrams, system layouts, and equipment specifications
- Experience providing technical assistance by phone and email
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and professionally
- Strong case-management, documentation, and organizational skills
- Experience using CRM or case-management platforms such as Salesforce, Odoo, or similar systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Reliable high-speed internet and a private remote workspace
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional PV installation, commissioning, or field-service experience
- Technical education or training in electrical systems, electronics, renewable energy, or a related field
- Experience supporting microinverters, energy storage systems, or solar monitoring platforms
- Electrical trade, NABCEP, or other relevant industry certifications
- Professional proficiency in Spanish, including the ability to provide customer or technical support by phone and email
Professional Spanish-language proficiency may be given additional consideration based on current customer-support needs.
Work Environment
- Full-time, remote position based in the United States
- Support is primarily provided through phone, email, CRM, and remote monitoring tools
- Regular computer use and extended periods of phone-based customer interaction are required
