Position Summary
SEI Technologies is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our growing aerospace and defense manufacturing team.
This is not a high-volume production environment. We specialize in complex, tight-tolerance machined components where quality, craftsmanship, and problem-solving matter. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing CNC machining processes while working closely with programming, engineering, and quality teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesCNC Setup & Machining
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
- Verify machine setups, tooling, workholding, and offsets
- Produce precision machined components to customer specifications
- Perform in-process inspections and make offset adjustments as required
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and work instructions
- Monitor tool wear and optimize machining processes for quality and efficiency
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues
Quality & Precision
- Manufacture parts to tight tolerances, often as close as ±0.0002"
- Utilize precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gages, and height gages
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Work closely with Quality to ensure conformity and prevent defects
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, quality, and process reliability
- Participate in problem-solving and root cause investigations
- Support implementation of new tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies
- Help develop standardized best practices across the shop
QualificationsRequired
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on the shop floor
Preferred
- Aerospace, defense, medical, or other precision manufacturing experience
- Experience with high-mix, low-volume machining
- CNC programming experience or desire to learn
- Experience with Mastercam or similar CAM software
- Familiarity with ERP systems and digital manufacturing processes
- Experience machining stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and nickel alloys
