Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing clinical documentation standards and ICD coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10).
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide individual, group, family, and youth therapy sessions using modalities like behavioral therapy, grief counseling, and social work techniques.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to ensure client safety.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, case management, and treatment planning for clients with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions while adhering to clinical standards for telehealth therapy and patient communication.
Skills
- Extensive experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, addiction counseling, and grief counseling.
- Proficiency in crisis intervention, crisis management, behavior management, and patient assessment within inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), medical records management, and clinical documentation standards.
- Skilled in working with adolescents, individuals with autism or developmental disabilities, PTSD care needs, and co-occurring disorders.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for clinical documentation and data collection; experience with telehealth platforms is highly desirable.
- Ability to conduct mental health assessments using evidence-based practices; experience with research or clinical research is a plus.
- Excellent client communication skills combined with the ability to provide compassionate support in high-pressure situations.
