Required Skills
- Efficient in 2-D AutoCAD (AutoCAD/Inventor 3-D experience preferred)
- Detailed system/component design practices (Conveyor experience preferred)
- Experience designing PLC control systems.
- Thorough understanding of VFD motor control, Allen Bradley Controls, Control RSLogix 5000, Armorstart Motor Controllers, Powerflex Drives, DeviceNet and Ethernet communications, PLC programming, Control Logix and Guard Logix programming, and Panelview programming.
- Generate engineering requisitions
- Documentation Control
- Field Engineering
- E-plan experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Coordinate and direct projects. Making detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities with assigned mechanical engineers and designers.
- Analyze technology and resource needs to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
- Plan the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Direct, review, and approve product desgin and changes.
- Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
- Review budget, and subcontracts, and direct engineering subcontracors.
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
- Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
- Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.
- Check designs and drawings for accuracy and compliance to company/industry standards.
- Interface with Mechanical Engineering to verify equipment requirements.
- Schedule and attend design review meetings.
- Some jobsite travel expected for customer meetings, line-ups, inspections, and support.
- Provide technical support to Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Purchasing, Documentation, Vendors and Suppliers.
Experience
- Minimum of five years relevant engineering experience
- 4 Year Electrical or Science Degree in Engineering
