Position Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality meals in accordance with company recipes, food safety standards, and client requirements. This position supports food service operations in schools, corporate workplaces, and other customer locations, ensuring meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and on schedule
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and production schedules.
· Assist with meal preparation for breakfast, lunch, catering, and special events as assigned.
· Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices in compliance with local health department regulations.
· Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
· Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
· Follow production forecasts and prepare appropriate quantities to minimize food waste.
· Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food products using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methods.
· Maintain clean and organized kitchen, storage, and food preparation areas.
· Ensure all temperature logs, production records, and food safety documentation are completed accurately.
· Support serving line operations when needed.
· Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to meet customer expectations.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
· Ability to follow recipes and written instructions.
· Knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles.
· Strong teamwork and communication skills.
· Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in school nutrition, cafeteria, institutional, or corporate dining services.
· Food Handler Permit and/or ServSafe Certification
Work Environment
· Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
· Fast-paced food service setting.
· Kitchen and food service settings located in schools, businesses, and workplace dining facilities.
· Exposure to kitchen equipment, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures.
Work Schedule
- Schedule may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Shifts are assigned based on business needs and employee availability.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Shift availability:
