Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our packaging manufacturing team and ensure reliable operation of production equipment and facility systems. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, support continuous improvement efforts, and collaborate with production to minimize downtime and maintain quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize equipment downtime.

Troubleshoot and repair motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, valves, and other production equipment.

Conduct routine inspections, calibrations, and tests to ensure equipment operates within specifications and safety standards.

Respond to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns promptly, documenting work performed and root causes.

Support installation, modification, and commissioning of new equipment and process upgrades.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts inventory, and log preventive maintenance activities using CMMS or maintenance logs.

Follow and promote safety procedures and housekeeping standards; participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Assist with welding, fabrication, and basic plumbing tasks as needed to support facility needs.
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma, vocational training, or associate degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.

2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills; experience with motors, drives, PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

Proficient with hand tools, power tools, test equipment (multimeter, clamp meter, megohmmeter), and maintenance software/CMMS.

Familiarity with safety standards and regulations (OSHA) and safe lockout/tagout procedures.
