Location: Santa Barbara, CA 93110
Position: Patient Services Representative
Pay Rate: $25/hr
Duration: 13 weeks
Expected Shift: 40 hrs/week
Ability to work the scheduled 5:45 AM-2:15 PM day shift.
Requirements:
Experience with outpatient patient service or front-desk workflows.
Experience with patient greeting, registration, check-in, and information verification.
Experience with appointment scheduling and updating Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Ability to facilitate patient intake, including healthcare and insurance forms.
Ability to collect and process patient payments for services.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, support groups, and healthcare providers.
Ability to maintain patient privacy and follow organizational, local, state, and federal requirements.
Ability to work the scheduled 5:45 AM-2:15 PM day shift.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with Revenue Cycle workflows.
Experience in an outpatient medical facility.
Experience supporting or orienting department staff.
Proficiency in coordinating multiple patient-facing administrative activities.
Summary / Duties:
The Patient Services Representative II serves as the first point of contact for patients entering an outpatient medical facility. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in patients, verifying demographic and other required information, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation. The representative supports intake activities by assisting with healthcare and insurance forms and collecting payments for services. This role requires clear, professional communication with patients, families, support groups, and healthcare providers while maintaining confidentiality and patient safety. The position follows organizational policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Additional duties may include completing department-specific administrative tasks and assisting with the orientation of other staff.
