Responsibilities
- Provide peer-led support by sharing personal recovery stories and fostering a sense of hope and empowerment
- Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans and setting achievable goals
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for clients and staff
- Employ crisis management skills to respond effectively during behavioral health emergencies or urgent situations
- Conduct motivational interviewing to encourage positive behavioral change and reinforce treatment adherence
- Collaborate with clinical teams, social workers, and addiction counselors to coordinate care and support services
- Document interactions accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards
- Mentor clients through ongoing support, providing guidance on coping strategies, community resources, and self-care practices
Experience
- Lived experience with mental health recovery or substance use disorder is essential; certification as a Peer Support Specialist is required
- Prior experience in crisis intervention or crisis management within behavioral health settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling techniques, and addiction counseling methods
- Demonstrated ability to motivate others through mentoring and supportive communication
- Familiarity with social work practices and community resource navigation is advantageous
- Experience using EHR systems for documentation and record keeping is desirable

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
