Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients while supporting veterinarians in various clinical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and radiography.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide excellent animal care, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health during procedures.
- Prepare animals for surgery by ensuring proper aseptic technique.
- Handle animals safely and effectively to minimize stress during examinations or treatments.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices and post-treatment instructions.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Proficiency in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively within the team.
- Strong understanding of animal anatomy to assist with diagnostics and treatment plans.
- Experience with animal handling techniques, including dog handling skills.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols for emergency situations.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques to ensure safety during surgical procedures.
- Previous experience in kennel management or pet grooming is a plus.
- A passion for animal care that reflects in daily interactions with pets and their owners.
