The Apple Cider Press Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring cider pressing equipment to extract juice from apples efficiently and safely. This role ensures product quality, equipment functionality, and adherence to food safety and production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate apple washing, grinding, and pressing equipment to produce cider
- Load apples into processing systems and monitor flow through each stage
- Adjust press settings (pressure, cycle time, throughput) to optimize yield and quality
- Inspect raw apples for quality and remove defective or contaminated fruit
- Monitor juice clarity, color, and consistency during production
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting
- Clean and sanitize equipment, tanks, and work areas per food safety standards (GMPs, HACCP)
- Record production data (volumes, yields, downtime, issues)
- Coordinate with maintenance and supervisors on equipment issues
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
