Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a Freight Analyst. In this role, you will analyze data related to transportation management systems, and freight operations, with the help of an AI planning software. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in data entry and have experience with software tools relevant to the logistics and transportation industry. This position is crucial for optimizing our processes and ensuring efficient operations within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Act as the lead decision-maker and monitor the performance of labor and assets so that freight coverage expectations are fulfilled.
- Analyze and interpret data from transportation management systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage and maintain accurate records through diligent data entry practices.
- Analyze business network using software tools to look for and capitalize on opportunities to increase driver revenue and efficiency within the freight network.
- Support operation and sales teams by providing analytical insights that drive account management strategies.
- Identify trends in data that can inform decision-making processes within the organization.
- Monitor KPIs for compliance and take action to correct any deficiencies.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Experience & Education
- Proven experience working with transportation management systems and freight logistics is preferred.
- Familiarity with asset-based trucking operations and dispatching practices is a plus.
- Proficiency in data entry with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience using AS400 software or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Track record of successful critical decision-making.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.
- Minimum AA (Business path preferred)
- 3+ years in a high-paced team-based work environment.
- 1+ years in a transportation-related field
- 1+ years utilizing productivity software.
- Prefer a high level of familiarity with Mid-Atlantic geography.
