About the Role
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the Construction Lead overseeing field-based construction activities in the Eagle Ford region.

Primarily manage instrument air compressor installations (60–80 units per year), with possible assignment to other mechanical field projects as needed.

Supervise lease and construction crews; role is supervisory only (no hands-on physical labor).

Conduct facility walkdowns using P&IDs to validate scope, identify risks, and ensure constructability.

Perform and manage energy isolation and lockout/tagout (LOTO) activities personally.

Lead daily tailgate meetings and maintain site-wide safety control.

Identify hazards, ensure mitigations are in place, and authorize crews to begin work.

Manage permits to work, ground disturbance compliance (Texas 811), and site safety requirements.

Develop bills of materials, coordinate with vendors, and obtain competitive cost quotes.

Track and manage daily project costs using cost sheets.

Coordinate with other functions (automation, electrical, engineering) and signal when their involvement is required to avoid project delays.

Communicate effectively with engineering teams regarding design concerns, recommendations, and adjustments.
Experience and Skills

Strong mechanical background required, including:
-
Piping modifications and mechanical installations
-
Understanding of process flow and oil & gas facilities
-
Familiarity with equipment such as compressors, separators (LP and HP), fuel skids, tanks, and pressure systems

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and conduct facility walkthroughs.

Experience with energy isolation / LOTO and permit-to-work systems.
-
Knowledge of ground disturbance requirements and Texas One Call (811).

Strong communication skills for cross-functional coordination and field leadership.

Cost management and vendor coordination experience.

Must provide own laptop and phone and install required operator software.
Work Environment

100% field-based role; no remote or hybrid option.

Primary home base: George West, with field work across multiple Eagle Ford areas:

Blackhawk area: Cuero, Norheim, Carnes

Hawkville area: Tilden, Los Angeles, Cotulla

Standard schedule:
-
Typically 4 days per week (Monday–Thursday)
-
10–12 hour days (may vary based on project demands)
-
Occasional Friday or weekend work based on priority and delays
