You are a skilled meat cutter with a dedication to high-quality work and exceptional customer service. Your understanding of various cuts and preparation techniques is complemented by an ability to communicate with guests, offer suggestions, and maintain a clean, safe workspace. Precision, efficiency, and food safety standards are at the forefront of every cut you make, and you are proactive in keeping product displays appealing and well-stocked.
What You Will Bring:
- Experience in meat cutting, butchering, or food preparation
- Knowledge of different cuts of meat, preparation techniques, and safe handling practices
- Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
- Strong communication skills to engage with guests, suggest cuts, and answer questions
- Physical stamina to perform a physically demanding job, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Attention to detail to ensure all cuts are precise and meet Papa Joe's quality standards
- Flexibility and teamwork to work varied shifts and assist with other store needs as required
What You Will Do:
- Prepare and cut meat according to customer preferences and store specifications, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality in every cut
- Maintain meat display cases by stocking and arranging meat products in an appealing manner, ensuring all products are labeled accurately with pricing and weight information
- Ensure quality and freshness by rotating products, identifying cuts for specials, and discarding expired or unsellable items in a timely manner
- Engage with guests to understand their needs, offer recommendations, and provide education on different cuts, preparation tips, and cooking techniques
- Follow all food safety protocols and maintain a sanitized, organized workspace, including proper storage and temperature control for meat products
- Operate equipment like band saws and grinders safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance as needed and reporting issues promptly
- Support inventory control by accurately weighing, packaging, and labeling products while minimizing waste and monitoring stock levels
- Collaborate with the store team and support other departments as needed, maintaining flexibility to assist with store operations
