Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented full time Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The job would be part time (15-18 hrs per week) for Monday and/or Tuesday. Specific hours are open to discussion and can be accommodated accordingly. Pay is negotiable, based on experience. NEW GRADS WELCOME TO APPLY.
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth in accordance with established protocols
- Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs and reviewing medical histories
- Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and maintaining a clean clinical environment
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experiences
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in good standing with relevant state licensing boards
- Proven experience in dental office settings, including familiarity with dental assisting, medical imaging, and medical records management
- Proficiency with dental software such as Open Dental; experience with EMR systems is preferred
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, general dentistry procedures, and infection control practices
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding standards
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical assessment, and documentation review accurately
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to pediatric and adult patients
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
