Job Title: CAD Technician/Programmer (Engineering Level 1)
Reports to: Engineering Manager
SUMMARY
Support the Engineering, Quality, & Production Departments with designs & prints using SolidWorks and programming software while growing your experience & knowledge in sheet metal fabrication.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Development of CAD models & prints for quoting & production using SolidWorks.
2. Maintaining those models & prints in a controlled document system.
3. Sound decision making and practical thinking when evaluating solutions.
4. Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, models, to ensure technical designs can be made with existing tooling and equipment in the shop.
5. Utilize programming software to create nests for various machines in the cutting department.
6. Nest programs in a way that ensures maximum efficiency, quality, and sheet utilization.
7. Work closely with production to resolve technical production problems.
8. Work with numerous CAD systems to convert, unfold and prepare data for manufacturing.
9. Work independently with little supervision and delivers excellent results in a timely manner.
10. Must rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
11. Use ERP system to build job routings and perform other minor tasks.
12. Ability to perform a quality sign off for any production operation.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Intermediate knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, machinery, and performance metrics normally acquired through three or more years of manufacturing and supervisory experience or education.
- Ability to identify issues & work within a team environment to find solutions and implement changes.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Knowledge of JobBoss ERP system is a plus.
- Basic NC programming is a plus.
