The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Serving as the DSS Workers’ Compensation Coordinator
- Serving as the DSS ShareLeave Chair
- Administering workplace programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Assisting the Human Resources Manager with the overall planning, development, and administration of human resource functions within the DSS IT division.
- Participating in the development, interpretation, and application of agency programs, policies and procedures related to state and federal laws and other relevant legal considerations.
- Provides oversight of all personnel actions, and direct supervision of a Human Resources Generalist.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).
Preferred Qualifications:
The person in this position must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function in a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment that will require a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize. Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management, organizational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality are a must. Knowledge of, or experience with the State of Missouri’s organizational structure and workers’ compensation program, the principles and practices of human resources, and personnel administration concepts is preferred.
