Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Scribe to support healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters and maintaining electronic medical records (EMRs). The Medical Scribe will work alongside physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate, real-time documentation, allowing providers to focus on patient care.
Responsibilities
- Document patient visits, including medical histories, physical examinations, assessments, and treatment plans.
- Enter information into electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems accurately and efficiently.
- Record diagnostic test results, procedures, and patient progress notes.
- Ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
- Review and edit medical records for completeness and accuracy.
- Communicate professionally with healthcare staff regarding documentation needs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Medical Scribe, medical assistant, or healthcare documentation specialist preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Excellent typing, listening, and note-taking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Experience in a physician office, hospital, urgent care, or specialty clinic.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
