Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists with patient intake procedures, including preparing treatment areas and gathering necessary equipment.
- Support patients during therapy sessions by demonstrating proper exercise techniques and ensuring correct posture and movement.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as assisting with patient transfers using safe transfer methods to ensure comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and session details while respecting patient confidentiality at all times.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sanitizing equipment, setting up therapy tools, and organizing supplies for efficient sessions.
- Provide compassionate patient care by offering encouragement, answering basic questions about procedures, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Support rehabilitation care efforts by assisting with exercises under supervision, monitoring patient responses, and reporting any concerns to the therapist.
Qualifications
- Prior experience practicing in a physical therapy or related healthcare role is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively support clinical activities.
- Experience working in hospital or outpatient settings, particularly within orthopedics, geriatrics, or post-acute care environments.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely during patient transfers and equipment setup.
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
- Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient service and care.
- Familiarity with inpatient, outpatient, or clinic-based rehabilitation practices enhances your ability to support diverse patient needs.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information while adhering to healthcare regulations and protocols.
