Summary
As a Safety Specialist at Industrial Mill Maintenance, Inc., you will be instrumental in ensuring a safe working environment for our team and clients and report to our Safety Manager onsite. Located in Youngstown, Ohio, this role is vital to our mission of promoting workplace safety and compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities
- Promote and support a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and company safety regulations.
- Conduct routine job site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
- Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident investigations, OSHA logs, and training documentation.
- Coordinate and conduct employee safety orientation and ongoing safety training.
- Deliver or coordinate training in topics including: OSHA regulations; PPE requirements; Lockout/Tagout; Fall protection; Hazard communication; First Aid/CPR (as certified); Emergency response procedures.
- Work closely with supervisors and managers to improve safety performance.
- Monitor compliance with workers' compensation reporting requirements and assist with return-to-work initiatives.
- Assist with environmental compliance as applicable, including EPA-related requirements.
- Recommend improvements to company safety policies and procedures.
- Stay current on OSHA, EPA, and industry best practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
