We have a casual, non-benefited position available on our day shift. Some of the position responsibilities are as follows: Performs therapeutic and diagnostic patient respiratory care and outpatient services, if available, within the scope of practice and in accordance with department protocols. Also performs an ongoing assessment of the patients Respiratory needs. Monitors and maintains all Respiratory equipment. This includes the following, EKG machine, continuous pulse oximeters, Small Volume Nebulizer and Large Volume Nebulizers, PEP devices, peak flow meters, oxygen conserving devices, and volume ventilator. EKG studies / tracings will be performed by the RT during routine hours of operation for Acute, SNF, on occasions ER and out patients. Administration of Respiratory medications including Albuterol, Ipratropium, Levabuterol, Mucomyst and Racepinephrine. And monitoring effects of such medications. The minimum qualifications are as follows: Graduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy program; Current California Respiratory certification/license. Must be knowledgeable in all areas of oxygen therapies. This includes but is not limited to: nebulizer therapy, postural drainage and percussion, pulmonary function studies, mechanical ventilation, BLS, ACLS, PALS, blood gas analysis, charting and departmental procedures. We would prefer a minimum of 3 years experience in a licensed acute care facility as a Respiratory Therapy Technician. Starting wage is $44/hour, plus benefits.
