American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Tech with at least 2 years of OR specialty experience for a 13-week hospital OR/CVOR assignment in Charlotte, NC.

Work in a 337-bed hospital OR department with 13 ORs plus one Procedure/Cysto room, averaging 45 cases per day
-
CVOR cases include cardiothoracic (CABG, AVR, MVR, Mini Mitral, Septal Myomectomy), vascular (fistula creations, TCAR, carotid and femoral endarterectomy, bypasses, hybrid cases, dissections), and thoracic (VATS, robotic resections, lobectomies, pericardial windows)

Main OR cases span orthopedic, spine, general, colorectal, breast, podiatry, urology, robotic, GYN, and plastics procedures
-
12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 36 hours per week

On-call required: 4–5 weeknight calls per 6-week schedule (as early as 5:00 PM–7:00 AM) and 1–2 weekend calls per 6-week schedule (Friday as early as 5:00 PM through Monday)

Holiday coverage is handled on a call rotation, which travelers are included in

Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors

Minimum 2 years of OR experience in specialty (CVOR CST or equivalent)

Must have strong and recent scrub experience in CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic cases
-
Experience scrubbing across a broad range of cases including orthopedic, cardiothoracic, vascular, general, urology, robotic, GYN, colorectal, breast, spine, podiatry, and plastics preferred

Completed accredited Surgical Technology education program required prior to start

National certification (CST or equivalent) preferred

BLS certification required

License required if applicable

Candidate must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Orientation for Main OR is 1 week; CVOR orientation is 2 weeks; orientation shifts are five 8-hour days

Department support includes 6 OR assistants on weekdays (room turnovers, stocking, patient positioning, and surgical table operation), a receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, and 24/7 anesthesia/CRNA coverage

A clinical interview with the manager is required as part of the selection process
