Overview:
Erie Copper Works has been supporting the steel industry through repairs and new fabrications of Electric Arc Furnace components for over 50 Years.
We are seeking a skilled first shift Manual Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating manual machines and possess a strong understanding of machining processes.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machines to include: G&L Horizontal Boring Mill, Summit Lathe, Carlton Drill Press, Bridgeport Vertical Milling Machines
- Produce or repair parts to customer specifications defined in drawings
- Identify and troubleshoot machining issues
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments like bore gauges and calipers
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Skills:
The ideal candidate should have the following skills:
- Prior experience with manual machines required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of CNC machining is a plus
- Basic math skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
- High School equivalent (preferred)
- Ability to regularly stand for long periods of time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
