Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant with experience across multiple specialties to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control, and support various dental procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Proficiency in electronic dental software such as Open dental is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where patient care and clinical excellence are prioritized. The position involves working closely with dentists and patients to deliver comprehensive dental services while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures across all specialties, including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and general dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials using aseptic techniques
- Take X-rays and medical imaging, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed
- Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records
- Provide chairside assistance utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
- Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and ensuring a sterile environment
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices
- Manage medical documentation and ensure accurate coding for billing purposes
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and updating patient records as needed
- Assist with the operation of advanced diagnostic tools like 3D scanners when required
- Uphold HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with familiarity across multiple specialties including pediatrics, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry
- Proficiency with Open Dental
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and medical terminology
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and data security
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
- State issued Registered Dental Assistant license required
- Nitrous, Sealant and Coronal Polishing Certifications are a PLUS
- Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
