A well-established and growing multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Professional Engineer (P.E.) to join its collaborative MEP team in Austin. What You'll Do
As an Electrical Project Manager, you'll serve as the technical lead for electrical engineering projects while coordinating closely with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural teams to deliver high-quality designs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design of commercial and institutional building projects from schematic design through construction administration.
- Perform electrical engineering calculations, system design, equipment selection, and code analysis.
- Develop construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budgets, and deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and internal MEP disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure quality, accuracy, and code compliance.
- Perform field observations, respond to RFIs, review submittals, and support construction administration activities.
- Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to develop coordinated electrical building system designs.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers by providing technical guidance throughout project execution.
- Support proposal development, project pursuits, and client relationship management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Active Texas Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- 4+ years of electrical engineering experience in an MEP consulting (8–10+ years preferred).
- Strong experience designing electrical systems for commercial building projects.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of NEC and applicable local building codes.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Experience with commissioning or electrical system startup is a plus.
