Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled part time Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Part Time position is currently for Monday, Wednesday, Fridays and some Saturdays.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Utilize 3D scanners for accurate impressions and diagnostics.
- Record patient vital signs and maintain accurate patient records.
- Perform basic dental coding for insurance purposes.
- Manage patient flow and assist with scheduling appointments as needed.
- Provide support in various specialties, including implant dentistry.
- Operate dental software such as Dentrix for managing patient information and appointments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Experience
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with dental clinic operations and procedures is advantageous.
- Knowledge of general dentistry practices, as well as specialties like invisilign and implant dentistry, is a plus.
- Experience with dental coding will be beneficial for managing insurance claims.
- Proficiency in using dental technology, including 3D scanners, is desirable.
