Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our small non-profit team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the organization’s financial health. Your expertise in various accounting software and strong understanding of financial concepts will help streamline our bookkeeping processes, facilitate precise reporting, and support our operational goals. Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software QuickBooks.
- Record all journal entries accurately, including debits and credits, ensuring proper classification according to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations regularly to verify data integrity across all accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to ensure financial statements are precise and compliant.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for internal review.
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.
- Support budgeting activities by analyzing account data and providing insights for financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards while maintaining meticulous records of transactions.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain and update membership program, to include invoicing, posting and letters of acknowledgement.
- Assist as needed in planning and execution of special and community events.
- Assist as needed in daily program delivery to include door monitoring, welcoming of visitors, late class and lunch coverage, and community presentations.
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non-profit organizations.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting software QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger management.
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and tax-related procedures is a plus.
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to handle accounts payable/receivable processes accurately while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills necessary for precise financial recordkeeping.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
