This position will be responsible for managing the reconditioning process for internal used trucks. This will include managing the flow of equipment through reconditioning from original acquisition to final retail ready status, while simultaneously controlling the costs of getting this equipment ready for resale.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and approving estimates for any internal reconditioning work
- Supervisor Lot Coordinator and Wash Bay
- Controlling costs on internal equipment by:
- Determining whether repairs proposed by shops are necessary to be performed
- Closely scrutinizing estimates for appropriate labor times
- Reviewing final costs on repair orders against approved estimates
- Providing direction on ways for company to control reconditioning costs better
- Maintaining reconditioning processes already in place including but not limited to processes for inspections, estimates/approvals, and details. Whenever appropriate, suggesting new processes or needed modifications to existing processes.
- Working with shops daily doing most of our reconditioning work (Indiana, Ohio and Michigan)
- Determining location(s) where reconditioning work will be performed (i.e. can designated reconditioning “hubs” handle current workflow or do other shops need to assist?)
- Helping shops prioritize internal work for purposes of meeting corporate objectives.
- Holding shops accountable when processes or approvals are not appropriately adhered to
- Having strong working relationships with personnel from dealership shops, corporate, and vendors
- Ability to delegate work as appropriate based on resources provided and available.
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- PC computer skills required, including fluency with Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to adhere to company policies, procedures, and business ethic codes.
