Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Cable Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low voltage systems across various commercial and residential environments. Your expertise will ensure the reliable operation of critical communication and security systems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients’ infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge technology, including network cabling, fiber optics, CCTV, VoIP, and telecommunication systems.
Duties
- Install, terminate, and troubleshoot low voltage cabling such as Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and other telecommunication wiring in accordance with industry standards and schematics
- Set up and configure network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and switches to ensure optimal connectivity
- Perform fiber splicing and testing to maintain high-performance data transmission across networks
- Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues, repair equipment, and perform preventative maintenance on low voltage systems
- Install and test CCTV cameras, access control systems, VoIP phones, and other security infrastructure
- Read and interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to accurately execute installations
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices to ensure proper system operation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in low voltage systems or telecommunications
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, LAN (Local Area Network), and telephony systems such as Avaya or similar platforms
- Familiarity with NEC electrical codes and safety standards for low voltage wiring installations
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams with precision
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, equipment repair, and network configuration using Cisco routers or Juniper devices
- Proficiency in using tools such as hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and testing equipment for cabling verification
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to client interactions
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
