Position Summary
We are seeking an Analyst/Valuation Specialist with experience in finance, particularly in fixed income, who thrives in a collaborative environment, working alongside senior members of the portfolio management team, and is motivated to primarily support the portfolio management team and act as a liaison to the operations and compliance teams with respect to valuation oversight. This role is integral to analyzing and presenting data to support pricing decisions, and reconciling trades as needed. Over time, the role is expected to evolve toward greater investment-side exposure within the portfolio management team, including portfolio surveillance, relative value analysis, and cash flow modeling.
Core Responsibilities
- Research and analyze the valuation of securities
- Aggregate, analyze, and present data to defend bond pricing
- Generate reports on security valuation scenarios as needed
- Partner with the Compliance team on recurring and monthly valuation reporting
- Assist Traders with trade entry and trade-related operational tasks
- Manage and reconcile trades as needed
- Support portfolio surveillance and collateral analysis across investments
- Assist with relative value analysis and cash flow modeling on structured credit
- Contribute to market research and opportunity sourcing
Preferred Experience & Professional Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Math, or a related field
- CFA Level I completed or actively pursuing the CFA designation preferred
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of valuation techniques and financial statements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Intex, or similar financial platforms preferred
- Coding or programming experience is a plus
Job Type & Location: Full-time, on-site in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We can be flexible on remote work to start for candidates who are relocating.
Compensation: $75,000 – $150,000 DOE, plus bonus
