Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily warehouse and plant logistics operations while actively participating in warehouse activities. This hands-on leadership role oversees inbound receiving, inventory control, production material supply, outbound shipping, warehouse system transactions, and warehouse personnel to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient operations.
The Warehouse Supervisor is expected to perform warehouse system transactions (WMS/ERP), operate forklifts and material handling equipment as needed, and provide direct operational support during peak workloads while ensuring uninterrupted material flow to production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Warehouse Operations
· Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, shipping, production staging, and finished goods handling.
· Coordinate daily work assignments and labor allocation based on production schedules and shipment priorities.
· Ensure timely movement of materials between warehouse and production lines.
· Monitor daily warehouse activities to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with company procedures.
· Verify shipping accuracy before outbound shipments.
· Support urgent production requests and material movements.
2. Inventory Control & Material Management
· Perform daily inventory transactions using WMS and ERP systems.
· Maintain accurate inventory records through timely system updates.
· Support cycle counts, physical inventory, and inventory reconciliation.
· Ensure proper lot control, batch tracking, and material traceability.
· Monitor warehouse locations and maintain inventory accuracy.
· Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist with corrective actions.
· Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices are followed where applicable.
3. Warehouse Systems & Documentation
· Process all warehouse transactions accurately within WMS, SAP, or ERP systems.
· Create and maintain receiving, shipping, inventory, and production movement transactions.
· Prepare and verify shipping documents including Bills of Lading (BOL), packing lists, receiving documents, and inventory records.
· Report system issues and coordinate with management for resolution.
· Ensure all warehouse documentation is complete and accurate.
4. Forklift & Material Handling Operations
· Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
· Load and unload trucks.
· Move raw materials, WIP, and finished goods throughout the warehouse and production areas.
· Assist warehouse operators during high-volume periods.
· Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues.
· Ensure safe handling of all materials.
5. Team Leadership
· Supervise warehouse associates, forklift operators, temporary employees, and contract labor.
· Train new employees on warehouse procedures, safety practices, and system operations.
· Monitor employee productivity, attendance, and work quality.
· Provide coaching and performance feedback.
· Ensure proper shift coverage and workload balancing.
· Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
6. KPI & Operational Performance
· Monitor daily warehouse KPIs including - Inventory Accuracy, Shipping Accuracy, On-Time Shipping, Production Material Delivery, Labor Productivity, Dock-to-Stock Time, etc.
· Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions.
· Support Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Prepare daily operational reports for management.
7. Safety & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company EHS policies.
· Conduct daily safety observations and housekeeping inspections.
· Maintain warehouse organization using 5S principles.
· Ensure forklifts and warehouse equipment are operated safely.
· Report accidents, near misses, and safety concerns immediately.
· Support internal safety audits.
8. Cross-functional Coordination
· Coordinate daily activities with Production, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Transportation, and Customer Service.
· Communicate operational issues and shipment status to management.
· Support customer visits, inventory audits, and operational inspections.
· Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with transportation providers.
Required Qualifications
· 3+ years of warehouse or plant logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
· 1+ years of warehouse lead or supervisory experience preferred.
· Hands-on experience with warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling.
· Experience using WMS, SAP, or ERP systems for warehouse transactions.
· Forklift operation experience and ability to obtain forklift certification.
· Willingness to operate forklifts and perform physical warehouse work as needed.
· Strong understanding of inventory management and warehouse processes.
· Knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety practices.
· Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in battery, chemical, automotive, semiconductor, or manufacturing industries.
· SAP WM or other warehouse management system experience.
· Experience supporting production material flow.
· Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen experience.
· Business-level Korean proficiency preferred.
Physical Requirements
· Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
· Stand and walk for extended periods.
· Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
· Work in warehouse and manufacturing environments
