Responsibilities
- Safely operate party buses and motor coaches on city streets and designated routes, ensuring passenger safety at all times
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, seating arrangements, and special needs accommodations
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each trip to ensure safety standards are met and maintenance needs are addressed
- Navigate traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and state transportation rules to ensure compliant driving practices
- Communicate effectively with passengers using two-way radios for driver communication and provide clear directions during trips
- Manage vehicle documentation, including logs of mileage, inspections, and maintenance records
- Assist with passenger safety protocols, especially in adverse weather conditions or during emergency situations
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements such as air brake and passenger transport certifications
- Proven experience in bus driving, shuttle driving, or limousine service with a strong understanding of traffic laws and transportation safety regulations
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicles to perform basic maintenance checks and identify potential issues
- Familiarity with city street navigation, traffic patterns, and transportation routes in urban environments
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact confidently with passengers and team members
- Experience with paratransit services or school bus driving is a plus but not required
- Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Knowledge of vehicle inspections, passenger assistance techniques, and DOT regulations governing commercial driving
- Strong commitment to passenger safety, customer service excellence, and adherence to all transportation laws
