Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN)
Full-Time | 36 Hours Weekly
Shift: 11A–11P
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN) implements the nursing process for patients across all age groups, from infancy through geriatrics, and is responsible for patient care within the parameters of the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act. The RN promotes positive patient outcomes, quality of care, and supports unit and hospital initiatives through active participation in shared governance and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Emergency Department Overview:
This fast-paced Emergency Department treats an average of more than 150 patients daily. Patient populations and cases include:
- Acute cardiovascular emergencies
- Neurovascular emergencies
- General medical emergencies
- Traumatic injuries
- Psychiatric patients
The department is recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI Receiving Center and a designated Primary Stroke Center. The ED provides care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatric populations.
An extensive orientation program allows nurses to work autonomously while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a highly supportive, teamwork-focused environment.

- Perform patient assessments
- Develop individualized plans of care
- Provide care according to hospital policy and procedures
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions
- Demonstrate strong organizational and critical thinking skills
- Exhibit leadership and effective clinical judgment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes
- Participate in continuous professional development, teaching, and learning opportunities
Requirements:
- Active Kentucky RN License required
