JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Commercial Loan Assistant will work in a team allocated to specific clients or channel of business, manage a pipeline of loans and be responsible for directing all efforts related to driving loans through the process. Effective communication with internal and external customers is critical in meeting key performance metric and contributing to the success of the team.
Essential Functions

Coordinate the processing of approved new loan applications, extensions, modifications, and renewal agreements, and any other documentation as necessary.

Maintain a current knowledge of lending guidelines, loan policy and loan packages.

Exercise judgement to ensure that new, amended or renewed loans are in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Maintain open communication with Loan Officers, being conscious of scheduling and availability to ensure proper efficiency throughout the loan process.

Ensure that various administrative tasks are completed in an effective and efficient manner, including copying, reviewing documents, and maintaining files as needed.

Responsible for maintaining communication on all aspects of a proposed loan form the loan approval to closing.

Effectively represent the bank and maintain customer relationships through calls and visits.

Maintain up to date knowledge of the company’s policies, procedures and processes.

Adhere to all Legence Bank and AFMFS standards, serving as an example to other team members, as well as to our customers.

Represent and promote the Company within the community.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Basic loan knowledge and understanding

Able to quickly learn new software

Valid Driver’s License

One (1) Year Current Banking or Loan Experience
Preferred Education and Experience

Three (3) Years Current Banking or Loan Experience
