Responsibilities
- Read schematics, diagrams, blueprints in order to perform diagnostic and repairs
- Perform on-site repairs in the field as needed as well as overhead door and dock equipment maintenance if requested
- Service, repair, install and perform maintenance requests on commercial dock doors, dock equipment, high speed rolling doors, and commercial entry doors
- Design, fabricate and weld warehouse aftermarket product line
- Perform maintenance and install EOD's, dock levelers, vehicle restraints, scissor lifts, dock seals and shelters, freight lifts and others as required
- Knowledge and understanding of warehouse racking systems is a PLUS
- Basic mechanic skills are a must for job performance
- Adjust, lay-out, position, align and fit components required at each job site
Requirements and KSAs
- Commercial dock and overhead door experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Proficient fitting and welding from shop blueprints
- MIG and ARC welding experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Basic math skills involving measurements and installations
- Computer and tablet proficient to maintain inventory and work orders
- Customer Service skills
- Strong time management skills
- Self-motivated
- Valid and Insurable driver's license and the ability to pass a drug screening
- Ability to continuously lift and bend, climb ladders up to 20' in height, work on knees for extended periods of time, and proficient operating power tools
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Able to sit, stand, push, pull, stoop, bend, kneel crouch, reach, climb, or crawl on a frequent basis
- Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
- Able to withstand exposure to hot, cold, wet, or other weather-related conditions
