What you'll be doing:
The overall role of this position is to assist in the support of logistical and custom functions. This includes inbound and outbound shipping activities for both domestic and international shipments. Primary focus is to achieve on-time shipping, full compliance with Customs regulations, and optimization of transaction and shipping costs.
- Follow and enforce the company's daily shipping policies and procedures
- Perform shipping operations to ship products domestically and internationally
- Track, monitor, assist with inbound/outbound shipments while disseminating status, as needed
- Assist with shipping related administrative and record keeping functions
- Collect transit data for reporting purposes
- Complete other tasks and functions, as assigned
What we are looking for:
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of software tools; Great Plains experience is a plus
- Familiarity with shipping freight and small parcel shipments
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail; must be able to maintain accurate records
- Capable of following processes and standard procedures
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Possess a continuous process improvement mindset
- Solid ability to work closely with other groups in a team-oriented environment
- Working knowledge of logistics and international trade or related experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of company products and materials preferred
- Excellent demonstrated attendance record over the past 12 months
- Passion for continuous learning- ability to identify new areas nd sources of professional development, then apply new knowledge and skills on the job; willing to train co-workers
